Photos:Celebration of Seven Palestinian babie born in U.N shelters

Babies honoured at ceremony were all born in U.N. schools, turned shelters, as fighting continued in Gaza
Temporary truce between Israel and Hamas ended today, despite talks in Egypt between the two sides
Hamas rockets fired at southern Israel, just hours before extended 24-hour ceasefire was due to expire
Israel immediately ordered a military response, with warplanes striking targets in Gaza strip
Israeli official confirms negotiators were ordered back from Cairo, where peace talks had been taking place
Joyous occasion: The babies slept soundly as they were greeted by well-wishers at the ceremony, no doubt pleased to have a respite from fighting which has robbed many of them of their homes
Tenderly wrapped in blankets, these babies' peaceful sleep could not be further from their traumatic start to life at a United Nations-run shelter as their mothers tried to escape the fighting which has devastated the Gaza strip.Smoke signals: Smoke is seen after what witnesses said was an Israeli air strike in Gaza City today. Israel launched attacks in the Gaza Strip  and recalled its negotiators from truce talks in Cairo after saying three Palestinian rockets had hit southern Israel, hours before a ceasefire was due to expire
Perhaps used to the sound of explosions and gunfire, the seven Palestinian babies slept soundly as they were welcomed into the world by displaced families at a ceremony held in their honour at one of the U.N. schools
transformed into sheltersSurveying the damage: A Palestinian boy, wearing just a pair of flip flops to protect his feet, stands amongst the wreckage of a building in Gaza city, where thousands have been living since the dispute began a month ago.
But it is likely the coming weeks will be far less serene for the newborns, as a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came to an end today, as a breach by Hamas led to further Israeli airstrikes
Blast: Israel immediately ordered a military response, with warplanes striking targets across the battered Gaza Strip
Earlier today, Israel ordered its negotiators back from talks in Cairo and warplanes hit targets in Gaza after Palestinian rockets smashed into the country's south as the two sides were observing a 24-hour truce.
Nine days of relative quiet in the skies over Gaza came to an abrupt halt when three rockets struck southern Israel just hours before the truce was to expire at midnight local time.
