Police Rescue Mother, 3 Children From Kidnappers


The Delta State Police Command has rescued four kidnapped victims unhurt and without ransom.

A release made available by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, stated that the DPO, Ugborikoko Division, received information on August 16, 2014 that one Mrs. Tokunbo Oruma and her three children, Bryan, 6, Gabriel, 3 and Wendy Oruma, 10 months old were kidnapped and driven away in her Honda CRV Jeep to unknown destination by hoodlums on August 17, 2014.

However, she said with the intervention of the command, on August 17, 2014, the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad (SAKS) operatives commenced trailing the kidnappers through the phone number they were using to negotiate for ransom with the victim’s husband.

However, on August 18, 2014, the hoodlums, sensing that the police hadve closed in on them released the victims unhurt and without ransom. The victims have been reunited with their family.

Meanwhile, Delta State PPRO, said that efforts were on to apprehend the fleeing criminals.
