Spill the blood of every Boko Haram member you see” – David Oyedepo

Founder of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo has asked his congregation while giving a sermon to ‘kill Islamic demons’ wreaking havoc in North-east Nigeria.

Pastor Oyedepo in the 26-minute rare footage recently posted on YouTube was shown angrily shouting: “God has anointed me to lead a revolution against Islamic jihadists,”

“I declare their collaborators cursed”

“Must the north continue to rule… What devils! God has anointed me to lead a revolution against the Jihadist.”

“If you catch anyone that looks like them – kill him! Kill him and pull out his neck. I will spill his blood on the ground. What nonsense!”
Apparently referring to the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haramas ‘demons’, the world’s richest pastor paused for some seconds to pray in tongues before continuing his message.

He was heard saying: “What Islamic demons. If Nigeria waits for the church to rise, Nigeria will disappear as a nation. You mean government cannot protect people? What a mess… Even the president said they (Boko Haram) have infiltrated his government. To do what? Must the North continue to rule? What devils!”

Oyedepo added :“All the Northern forces that are sponsoring these uprisings and killings – I decree the curse of God upon them. Lord, if it is Your will to break up Nigeria – break it now!”

Don’t mistake only those in politics as in power. The annointed of the Lord are the ones in power by divine ordination… If I say it will not rain in the land, it will not drop. What nonsenese!”

Soyinka blasts Obasanjo …says ex-President is a liar

Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has expressed shock at the contents of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s controversial autobiography titled, My Watch.Soyinka, in a piece titled, ‘Watch And Pray, Watch And Prey’, described Obasanjo as an expert in telling lies and a shameless man.
Soyinka is one of the personalities the former President slammed in the three-volume controversial book which an Abuja court ordered security agencies to confiscate wherever it is being sold.He described the literary icon as a misfit, a better wine connoisseur and a guinea fowl hunter in the book.

US Website Names Pres. Jonathan 6th Richest African President

According to richestlifestyle.com, a US online publication, President Goodluck Jonathan is the 6th richest African president.

In the article titled “9 Richest African Presidents and Kings of 2014,” the website states that Jonathan’s estimated net worth is $100 million.

Former Military Head of State Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), who is recuperating in Germany after a surgery, yesterday promised to return home soon.
He spoke with reporters in a telephone conversation facilitated by former military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, when the latter visited Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu in Minna, the state capital.

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) will govern the state for the next 20 years and even beyond. According to Okorocha, the issue of governance in Imo had gone beyond making him governor.The governor spoke while inaugurating officers and members of the state’s Campaign Council yesterday, adding that the philosophies of the “Rescue Mission” had to be institutionalised for rapid development of the state.

The Nigerian police is currently investigating the murder of a middle-aged woman, identified as Silifat Yakubu.She was allegedly killed by her husband, Ismail Yakubu, at Igbele, near Araromi Ale Olorunda Local Council Development Area, along Badagry Expressway in Lagos.
Although details surrounding the death of Iya Lugo, as Silifat was popularly called, are still sketchy, it was gathered that the mutilated body of the deceased was found in a small river located at the community’s entrance, where she was supposedly dumped after she was murdered.

A contractor, identified simply as Arthur, died on Sunday morning in Idimu, Lagos, after he was hit by a yet-to-be-identified motorcyclist the previous evening.It waslearnt that 47-year-old Arthur, an indigene of Edo State, had gone out on Saturday to celebrate the festive period with his friends in the Igando area of Lagos.newsmen gathered that the deceased, who was a contractor with an aluminum firm, had gone out in company with a friend, identified simply as Charles. The duo was said to have visited about four residences where they reportedly got drunk.

The Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court, on Friday, sentenced a man, Mohammed Mamman, to three months in prison for stealing 10 cartons of fruit juice from a market.
The Senior Magistrate, Mr. Aminu Eri, sentenced Mamman, a labourer who lives at Mabushi Ghetto, after he pleaded guilty to the offence.

Health Minister, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu was on Tuesday adopted by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside other major stakeholders of the party from the three geo-political zones of Ebonyi State as the consensus governorship candidate of the party ahead of next year’s general election.

The police detectives in Asaba, Delta State, in collaboration with the vigilante group in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the state, have sealed off an illegal orphanage home in Ashaka community and rescued no fewer than 33 children allegedly used for illegal business.Reports said that the orphanage home (name withheld) has been used to dupe unsuspecting members of the public, especially those, in the community where it operates.

In an interview with City People this week, pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo, wife of pastor Mathew Ashimolowo, founder of Kingsway International Christian Church, spoke about her 33 year old marriage and how a lecturer at UNILAG warned her not to marry the pastor because he had nothing..

Delta state Command has rescued a kidnap victim at Okpara in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, shooting one of the suspected kidnappers in the process as others fled the scene with bullet wounds.The Police also arrested a suspected rapist, Gbenga Anaorin, 39, at Okpanam for defiling a two-year-old girl at Okpanam.

Anambra State Police Command has uncovered a baby factory where women with unwanted pregnancies are harboured till delivery, after which the babies are sold to interested buyers, with or without their mothers’ consents.Pregnant teenagers arrested from one of the baby factories in Akwa Ibom recentlyConsequently, the suspected owner of the baby factory has been arrested and detained by the police for allegedly selling one of the new born babies for N700,000, without the mother’s consent.

Governor Theodore Orji has been praised by associates as the man who liberated the state from what they describe as the bondage of the state to the family of his immediate predecessor, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu.

Mrs. Bridget Iwelu, the mother of a 19-year-old student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Emeka Shoremekun, has lamented the 15-month abduction of her son.Iwelu called for the intervention of the acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, to rescue the undergraduate, who was abducted on June 6, 2013 in Anambra State.According to Bridget, her son, Shoremekun could have been forcibly taken from or lured out of his hostel.She recalled that on the fateful day, she saw her son’s missed call on her mobile phone, adding that when she called him back, Shoremekun’s line was unreachable and the situation remained so for three days after which she became worried.

Human rights groups have called on the police to fish out the nephew of a monarch in Lagos, Enibalomo, who led a gang that murdered a security guard, Odion Aimeyekagbon.Aimeyekagbon was attached to the Bello Folawiyo Government Reserve Area in the Ketu-Ikosi area of the state before his death.PUNCH Metro had reported on Friday, October 3 that the deceased and his colleague, Zaka Ajeh, had told the kingpin, said to be returning from a hotel in the estate, to tender a gate pass before he could be granted exit.

Four-year-old Omonigho Abraham is currently battling for his life at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, after his scalp was eaten by two dogs.The dogs chewed the skin and exposed the victim’s skull during the attack which happened on Thursday on Adegboyega Street, Akesan Estate, in the Igando area of Lagos.PUNCH Metro had reported last week that the police arrested the two dogs for attacking Omonigho.

Governor Rochas Okorocha’s daughter, Uju Vanstasia will marry Uzoma Tony Anwuka, son of the secretary to the state government, Professor Anthony Anwuka.
The traditional ceremony will take place in Okorocha’s home town, Ogboko on Thursday, 9 October, while the wedding will be solemnised at Saint Joseph Catholic Chaplaincy, Imo state University, Owerri on Saturday, 11 October.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar on Monday appealed to the Federal Government to take necessary steps to make governance at the centre less attractive to politicians.
Atiku stated this in Ado-Ekiti when he inaugurated the Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe General Hospital built by the outgoing Ekiti State government to mark its fourth year in office.
He suggested that the federal government could reduce the rush for power at the centre by devolving some of its powers which he described as too enormous.

A human rights group, the Doing Democracy Movement, has called for the dismissal of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Abuja, Mr. Joseph Mbu, for an alleged abuse of power.The group’s call is coming on the heels of the arrest of a journalist with the African Independent Television, Mr. Amaechi Anakwue, on Mbu’s directive.
Anakwue, who was arrested and charged to court for describing Mbu as ‘controversial’ in his report, was later discharged.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), is canvassing the use of the new National e-ID Card, as a valid travel document, as an alternative to the international passport for certain types of travel.According to the commission, the new national electronic ID card issued to Nigerians on behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is a bonafide Machine Readable Travel Document (MRTD), recognised by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
One of the 13 applets imbedded on the card has similar content usually found in Nigeria’s e-passport and it is known as ICAO Applet, so, it could easily be used as a travel document subject to approval of the international community.

General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All of Nations (SCOAN) in the Ikotun area of Lagos, Temitope Balogun Joshua, on whose premises a collapsed six-storey building on September 12 killed about 80 South Africans in addition to some Nigerians, has sent some ‘relief’ materials to the South African victims.The South African ‘Sunday Times’ newspaper reported on Sunday that Joshua has sent teams of his ‘evangelists’ across South Africa to drop off R5,000 (about N75,000), maize meal and anointed water to family members of those killed in church guesthouse collapse.
Lagos State Government is to begin a probe into the circumstances surrounding the collapse of the building on October 13.

South African authorities have seized another US$5.7 million arms money from Nigeria, just three weeks after the $9.3 million cash transported by two Nigerians and an Israeli for arms purchase, South Africa-based City Express reported Monday.
As with the first deal, South Africa’s Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority seized the $5.7 million (about N952 million) for allegedly being the proceeds of illegal transactions, the paper said.

One of the two victims of the May 1, 2014 bomb blast in Nyanya in the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Chiamaka Dominic, is dead, The PUNCH learnt on Monday.
His death came barely two weeks after a surgery had been carried out on one of his two legs.
The surgery was sponsored by Women for Change Development Initiative, an NGO owned by the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, which paid the N1.4m and equally gave him money.
The Boko Haram Islamic sect had claimed responsibility for the attack, which claimed many lives.
He was said to have died on Sunday night at University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, where he had been receiving treatment.

The Catholic Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese, Bishop Joseph Bagobiri has declared that it is biblical for Christians to defend themselves against the endless attacks of the Boko Haram sect on them, using what he termed: “moderate and proportionate force”
Bagobiri, a former Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna State Chapter, described the act of silence by Christians over the continuous attacks on them by the insurgents as, “gross act of irresponsibility”

The Police in Ugbowo, Edo State, have arrested a staff of the Chemistry Department of University of Benin, UNIBEN, who allegedly forged the letter headed paper of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and signature of the Chairman of ASUU, UNIBEN chapter, Dr. Anthony Monye-Emina.Meanwhile, there was pandemonium last Friday at the office of the Vice Chancellor of UNIBEN, Prof.Osayuki Oshodin, after a woman evaded security and allegedly assaulted him in his office.Vanguard learnt that the VC was walking to his waiting room to meet with some visitors when the woman, said to have been sacked by the university authority for alleged misconduct, held him by his trousers, screaming that she should be reinstated.

Tragedy struck in Oka Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State at the weekend, as a newly wed couple and four other persons were killed by a truck.The truck, it was gathered, rammed into the residence of the couple located close to Oka hill while they were asleep.A resident of the area, who identified himself as Gidado, said the accident occurred in the early hours of the day when most of the residents of the area were still on their beds. It was gathered that the truck, which was heading towards Abuja, belonged to a famous manufacturing company. Aside the couple that died in the accident, four other persons who were also hit by the truck were later confirmed dead.

There were indications, weekend, that the Army High Command has ordered the arrest and detention of a Brigadier-General attached to the 3rd Division of the Nigerian Army (names with-held) over allegations of negligence that gave Boko Haram terrorists an opportunity to overrun some communities in Borno State recently.it was gathered that the senior officer who hails from one of the states in the South West, was the officer coordinating the military onslaught to dislodge several Boko Haram terrorists from Bama, Gwoza, Madagali, Michika and other communities in Borno and Adamawa states that later fell into the hands of the terrorists.

The squabble between the founder of Believers Love World (aka Christ Embassy) Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Anita, has further worsened with Mr Oyakhilome now removed as a trustee of a United Kingdom’s branch of the church. According to reports, with Mr. Oyakhilome’s removal, his wife, Anita, now presides over a seven-man Board of Trustees (BoT) of the N8.2 billion rich branch.

The abductors of a businessman, Mr. Dapo Coker, have demanded N30m ransom as a condition for releasing him.It was gathered that Coker, who owns DAPSEY OIL filling station in Igando, was abducted on the night of Monday, September 22, 2014, while driving home after the close of work.A close family source, who pleaded anonymity, said the assailants did not touch phones and other personal belongings in the vehicle.According to the family source, the police discovered his vehicle the following morning with the two phones.

Rivers state governor and Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has urged Rivers people and Nigerians to vote out President Goodluck Jonathan and his PDP-led federal government in next year’s election to secure their future.
Amaechi spoke at the weekend in Degema, the headquarters of Degema Local Government Area of the state after commissioning an 8,000-sitting capacity football stadium complex built by the local government administration.

Tragedy struck in the sleepy community of Ubiekpo Abor in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State at the weekend when a middle-aged woman, Mrs. Eunice Ugwuozor, was stabbed to death by her son, Uchechukwu.A statement from the state police command through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ebere Amaraizu, confirming the incident, noted that operatives of the state criminal investigation of the command had commenced a full scale investigation to unravel the mystery and circumstances surrounding dastardly act.

The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Adeniji Adele, Lagos, has arrested a pastor, Peter Iyasele, and two others for allegedly hijacking a truck with N25m worth of goods in the Ijora area of Lagos.

PUNCH Metro learnt that while the two other suspects ─ Anthony Ibiade and Amas Debar ─ were arrested in Ijora, the 56-year-old clergy was arrested in Igando, Lagos.

Two Senior Advocates of Nigeria- Norrisom Quakers and M.J. Onigbanjo- have dragged the Peoples Democratic Party and Ekiti State-governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose, to the National Human Rights Commission over alleged violation of their rights to practise as lawyers.In a petition dated September 29 and jointly signed by them, they claimed that the September 22 and 25 attacks on the Ekiti High Court by some suspected political thugs constituted threats to their lives.

2015: APC will stop oil theft in Nigeria – Saraki

Senator Bukola Saraki has vowed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will put an end to oil theft in Nigeria if voted into government in 2015.
The former governor of Kwara state stated that stopping oil theft will be one of the priorities of Nigeria’s main opposition party. On his Twitter page on Sunday, Saraki wrote using the #OilTheft: “At $105 per barrel for crude, Nigeria is not saving, PDP and APC states barely meeting obligations. What will happen if Crude falls below $90?” he quizzed.

A 42 year old man who allegedly impregnated his 16 year old daughter in Oyo state has been arrested by the state police command. According to Sunday Sun, the JSS 2 student was repeatedly raped by her own father after she'd left her mum and gone to live with him. Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Kola Sodipo said on the night she was first raped, the father had asked the victim to undress, but when she refused and attempted to escape, he threatened her with a cutlass and then raped her.
