Woman Gives Birth On Roadside in Asaba

A middle-aged woman at the weekend gave birth on the roadside along the popular Nnebisi road, Asaba, Delta State.The woman suddenly went into labour in a moving tricycle, “Keke Napep.She thereafter gave birth along the street after serious pressure was mounted on the driver of the tricycle to stop.Reports said that the woman (name withheld) was said to have gone to a clinic along the road for her routine ante-natal check-up when the medical officer on duty, after examining her, advised her to go back to invite her husband to the clinic.

Sources said after she walked out of the clinic, she went into labour after boarding the tricycle and was surrounded by some women who assisted her to deliver her baby.

But this was not to be as the tricycle driver had resisted her cry until other passengers shouted him down and in the process the woman jumped out and immediately started pushing by the road side.
