Islam Is A Symbol Of Peace – Sultan

His eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar (III) has admonished Muslims Ummah to continue to adhere to the peaceful mission of Islam, which he said remains a factor that distinguishes a Muslim as peace loving.The Sultan, who said this today in a speech during the 20th annual convention of Jana’atut Tajdidil Islamy held in Zamfara State capital, Gusau, said Muslims have been demonstrating strong resistance to violence, reiterating that Muslims Ummah is far from being an absurd community as some people are now assumpting wrongly.

Alhaji Sa’ad further observed that if Muslims would opt to behave as some non-muslims are doing, the situation would have been worse, while expressing optimism that Muslim Ummah would continue to maintain a peaceful posture against any odd as symbolised by the actual concept of the religion.

He stated that as the theme of the convention suggests, there should be practical attempt and effort to regenerate peaceful survival among humanity, saying, ‘’I would urge all muslims to remain patient and always strive to maintain peace’’.

He explained further that the term Islam symbolises peace and the whole concept of the religion propagates peace.

In his speech during the occasion, the national chairman of Jamaátut Tajdidil Islamy, Mallam Abubakar Muhammad Mujahid, while condemning ongoing genocide in Gaza by the Israel military action and frequent unjustified attacks on other Muslim nations across the world, reminded Muslims of gross deviation from the actual teachings of the religion and allowing unnecessary divisions among Muslims.

He therefore called for new focus on the divine concept of the religion as the only way out to salvation from the current challenges.

The annual convention was attended by many eminent personalities like the governors of Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Bauchi, Kano and Kebbi states, with hundreds of prominent Ulamas from across the country.
