5 killed in Katsina as Building collapses

Tragedy struck at Garki Village, Baure local government area, Katsina State, on Wednesday morning, when five persons reportedly lost their lives when a building collapsed on them.LEADERSHIP FRIDAY understands that the unfortunate incident occurred, followinga heavy rainfall, while the victims slept.

According to sources, the deceased were members of the family of one Mallam Sai’du Namai-shanu and included his wife Asma’u Sai’du, his daughter Zainab Sai’du and three grand-children; Salisu Lawal Kilishi, Sai’du Lawal Kilishi and Mustapha Danjuma.

It was further gathered three other persons sustained various degrees of injury during the incident and are receiving medical treatment at Baure General Hospital.

Among sympathisers to the family included the commissioner for lands and survey, Alhaji Nasidi Danladi, District Head of Baure, Alhaji Muhammad Daha Umar and the local government administrator.
